Home Typography Tuesday

Welcome to another "Home Type Tuesday"! When I came upon the Garvey Chair on Anthropologie's website I have to admit I stared at it for a good 5 minutes. There are so many things I love about it, but I especially adore the simple way of adding a bit if fabric with type to the seat updates the entire look!

<span class=

"If you're using type as décor, only use it in one area," Covino suggests. "If you start to repeat it, it'll become overwhelming. . . . Let it be your wow piece in one section of the room. That way whatever you're ‘saying' in that type speaks on its own." quote from the article below

I also want to take a quick moment to thank the folks over at STUFF Boston Magazine and the lovely Cheryl Fenton of the Easy Peasey blog for including my love of typography in their latest Reside Column. If you want to read the entire column pop over here!

Thanks to Stuff Magazine

A special thanks to STUFF magazine and Erin Gates of Elements of Style Blog for including me in their article, "Designing By The Book". I was so honored to be asked to participate with my favorite design book and excited to keep company with such amazing local designers! Can you guess which book is my pick? Pop on over to STUFF to find out!

Shop Boston Etsy Designers

In November I was asked by Stuff Magazine to pick a few of my favorite local Etsy Designers to be featured in a shopping article! I was so honored and was even happier to see Marni Katz's write up. Below are the artists and a few additional items from their stores along with 2 other Etsy Designers I really like. In true affordable CreateGirl style all items are under $55. Check them out. Etsy is a great easy and quick way to support your local Designers!!

Jace Interiors New Hues

I am so excited my design company Jace Interiors was included in the "New Hues" article over at Stuff Magazine. I was asked for a color back in the spring but feel it is still relevant this fall. Mix it in with the dark grays and the oranges we are seeing all over the fall pallet and you will create a bite of brightness.

Fall always means layering to me and adding a few extra colorful covers is a perfect place to use this blue!

This room feels so cozy with the dark gray and just a hint of bright blue, plays great against the strong color

This is a fantastic application of Behr Brilliant Sea. I found this over at Bonnie Van Voorst, a new favorite blog of mine!

I have been searching for the perfect accent clock for my bedside table, this would be a great bday gift (hint hint!) found over at etsy

what a statement this jacket would make, I especially love the high collar
